The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) stands as a pathway to permanent residence for skilled individuals already contributing to Canada, extending a warm welcome to foreign students and workers.
CEC offers a swift route for international graduates seeking Canadian permanent residence, aligned with the goal of bolstering the supply of skilled workers in the country.
Work experiences lacking valid authorization, self-employment, and roles during full-time studies (e.g., co-op terms) do not fall under CEC consideration.
Processing times for CEC applications should be anticipated. For those presently employed in Canada applying for permanent residence under CEC, eligibility for a bridging open work permit exists if the current permit is nearing expiration.
Since January 1, 2015, foreign nationals are chosen through the Express Entry system, necessitating an invitation before applying. Applicants can remain in Canada during the process, and those outside Canada can apply within three years of leaving their job.
To fulfill CEC requirements through Express Entry, candidates must:
- -Possess a minimum of 12 months of skilled work experience in Canada within the last three years (full-time or equivalent part-time).
- -Have gained work experience with proper authorization.
- -Undergo an approved language test, meeting minimum requirements.
- -Intend to reside outside the province of Quebec.
Eligibility for CEC mandates:
- -Canadian skilled work experience within three years of the application.
- -Skilled work experience encompasses managerial roles (NOC skill level 0), professional positions (NOC skill type A), technical jobs, and skilled trades (NOC skill type B).
- -Experience should amount to at least 12 months of full-time work or an equivalent part-time duration.
- -Applications not meeting NOC duty and job description requirements may not be accepted by IRCC.
Essential Note: IRCC necessitates the submission of government application processing fees for most applications.
